In this blog you will read my opinion about what it is like to follow courses within skillshare.
First and foremost they have one month free trial. So you can see if it is really something for you to use as a learning platform. As well as the courses you can choose between they have a very wide variety.
Secondly, I find it very affordable. You only have to pay a small amount for a year of endless creative courses.
And the most important i think is it’s project-based learning. It makes it so much easier to comprehense and learn at a fast speed. It’s really hands-on. Do you not like the teacher? Enough courses with the same topic to test out the next one. The con here is that the quality of the course can also vary in relation to the teacher. But on the other hand it is completely up to you wether you want to continue this course or look for something that suits you more. Or maybe you want to test what you have learned in half of the course? Just hit the pause button and you can come back later where you left off.
Skillshare also has a highly engaged community, this makes the classes interactive and fun. You can upload the work you’ve made yourself and share it if you want with other students that have mastered the same course as you. Or you can get a review and feedback by other learners and instructors .
My opinion?
We are a family of 4 and every one of us uses the Skillshare platform for his or hers own purpose. Drawing, web-development, photography, you name it, you can learn it. If you are looking for any kind of official recognition of your learnings (e.g. a certificate or diploma), you’ll have to look elsewhere. But if you want to explore new creative skills and learn at your own personal speed, from people who master these skills and are willing to give you an inside and learn you there skills, tips and trics than this is the place to be.
Our children (11 and 8 years old) search there own courses. They do not only learn new skills but even there english (we speak Dutch) improves. So it has many advantages for them. It’s fun, playfull and learning at the same time.
Skillshare is a great online learning platform to use if you are a curious person who enjoys learning new things at your own speed. Its database of classes can be very useful and very large. The video lessons are way more fun, than reading books and the sound and video quality is perfect. We use it all the time, so we’re all four at our home big fan. Also interacting with other students can be a fun way to learn. The 1-month free trial gives you the opportunity to test it out before financially committing and you can try it out with the promo code in the link below:
